Speaking of bad advice, if you open your Dragon options up to the Data tab you will see the default Save recorded dictation with document is set to ALWAYS instead of NEVER, as it should be. This involves more work but is far more bulletproof. If you want to process e-mail through optimization utilities, choose your messages carefully and manually run the text through the Vocabulary Builder. Do you really want to train Dragon to someone else's writing style and introduce hundreds of misspelled words? NEVER let Dragon analyze anything you don't specifically approve.
Dragon only analyzes the e-mails in your Sent To folder but those messages are often responses that were created on a smart phone from someone who left out those pesky unnecessary vowels. Think about what's involved in analyzing your e-mails. The reason for the current list of Dragon recommendations is to cut down on phone support but the default settings are not necessarily in your best interest. Just because Dragon recommends doing something doesn't mean you should. Thank your lucky stars that the e-mail optimization process failed.
